How your Handicap works and how to correctly score.
The current handicapping system is based on your last 20 scores. The calculation takes the best 8 of your last 20 scores. The Handicap index is then calculated (HI). This is used to work out your course index (CI) either by looking it up on the SAGA app or a handicap sheet displayed at the club you are playing at.
It is critical that you know how to correct your scores for handicap purposes. This should be done as follows:
- A maximum of a net double bogey must be recorded
Example - Mr A Goodenough 21 Handicap
On strokes 1, 2 and 3 maximum score 4 over par.
Strokes 4 to 18 maximum score 3 over par
